My grandson is a fanatic when it comes to this Lego series. He uses all
of the Hero "guys" in imaginative play. He puts the legos together
very quickly and spends hours bringing "comic book" life to his players.
At this stage of his life (age 12) he thinks he will be a video game
creator or comic book creator.
Easy to build of course and looks good sitting in my living room plus
its big and not dainty and doesn't easily fall to pieces like regular
legos. Looks awesome!
This set was very fun to put together and looks great with my other Lego
Bionicle figures. This is one of the largest figures Lego makes for
Bionicle, which is the primary reason I chose to buy it. It's not
super-complicated, and could be assembled in under an hour by anyone
with past Lego experience. This is not my favorite Bionicle figure, as I
have found some other models to be more sturdy, though this one looks
very cool and is still fun to put together.
They are exceptionally well made. There are snapping ball joints which we have never ever had a problem with. My kids disassemble these guys and create unique and unusual characters with the pieces and then take them all apart a million times over and we've never once had a piece crack or snap or break or become deformed in any way.
A really solidly made series overall!
As for the character in particular, he is incredible! The color scheme is just gorgeous, his overall look is definitely intimidating but is also so beautifully design I'm a little in awe. I mean, I'm a mother in my 30's and I LOVE this character! I find myself asking the kids if they're taking care of it, if they want a special shelf for it, if it's all still together (they take them all apart to mix and match pieces!)! I really, really, enjoy this toy, probably as much as my children do.
It's appropriate for such a wide variety of age groups too. The younger (4,5,6) ones love this because he looks like a legitimate, hardcore bad guy toy, and the older ones (up to 11 and 12!) still appreciate him and play with him too!
This is hands down the best character available out there in this collection.
He's also much larger than every other Bionicle / Hero Factory character which gives him a quite impressive finished look. I think I even said "wow!!!!" when the kids finished putting him all together and showed me!
Very easy to pose, very stable when built, this guy stands easily without any support at all! Great for keeping on a shelf for display! That being said, he also holds up when haphazardly thrown into a toy box! He's made it out of toybox purgatory more than once fully intact which is saying quite a lot!
In general, and it goes for the whole collection as well, this a wonderful toy that allows for not only play along the storyline of the series, but due to the easily interchangeable pieces is wonderful for creative imaginary play. My kids and their friends have spent hours creating all sorts of diverse and utterly spectacular characters all of their own design with the pieces from several of the sets they have.
It's a really wonderful series and as a parent I'm perfectly comfortable and even happy to purchase these for my family!
